Tianmu trail (old name))

Old Tianmu Hiking Trail passes through the northwest slopeland of Huagang in Shilin. It is the saddle in the south of Shamao Mountain and it is the rear of fish road historic trail in early years. It includes several trials from Huagang to Tianmu. It is constructed along large aqueduct. It is cool and comfortable to walk through the babbling rivers and primitive forest.Along the trail, we can pass “Cuifeng Trail” from Cuifeng Waterfall to Hou Dong industrial road. By walking in the mountain and forest, it is particularly cool and comfortable.
 Tianmu trail has been the main trail which connects Jinshan and Tianmu. Since the launching of Yangde Blvd, the path in early years has become the historic trail. In recent years, it becomes popular hiking trail and is filled with tourists on holidays.

Amazing forest labyrinth. Tianmu trail

Entrance of Tianmu trail is located at Lane. 232, Section. 7, Zhongshan N. Road and length is about 2.5 km. It connects the path from Tianmu to Private Chinese Culture University of Yangmingshan. Historic trail consists of several hiking trails, including Shuiguan Road Trail, Cuifeng Trail, etc. The path is covered by greenness and the cliffs are filled with moss. It includes Shuiguan Road, Cuifeng Waterfall and landscape trail which allows us to overlook Guandu Plain and Shamao Mountain valley. These are the popular sites for the hikers.
At the entrance of Tianmu trail, a wooden platform is constructed. Ancient wooden material is associated with the meaning of “historic trail”. Noticeably, from the entrance to the top, there are more than 1000 steep stone stairs. The length of Tianmu trail is about 2.5 km. Thus, for those who are not familiar with the trail, particularly those who hike on the mountain for the first time, they should be cautious about their physical strength and prepare the water and hiking tools.

Tianmu trail

Shuiguan Road is the water delivery road developed during the Japanese colonial period. In order to pilot the source of Yangmingshan, the aqueducts were installed as supply for Tian Mu area. Although the trail, the paths were constructed, called “Shuiguan Road”. Along the trail, we can see San Jiao Pu power station left by the Japanese, black large aqueduct, adjustment well, etc. The trees are dense and the landscape is attractive. With the primitive forest and rich ecology, it is cool and comfortable to walk through the trail.
To set out from Tian Mu, we should first hike up 1300 stairs. After reaching adjustment well, we will walk through plain forest bath trail. We can not only breathe fresh air, but also hear the babbling water in black large aqueducts and songs of birds. Thus, we can be bathed in densely green forest of water source conservation, experience natural tranquility and primitiveness and learn diversity of culture and history on Tianmu trail.

Afterthoughts(Cyberfair):

I am glad to participate in this Cyberfair project. Through the activity, I learned the spirit and importance of T.E.A.M.

T means Team work. Thanks for the instruction of Teacher Li-wei Sung and Teacher Zhan Zhi Jie. The members from different grades and classes developed the spirit of team work by work division and cooperation.

E means Ecosystem. By community expert Teacher He who guided us to visit Shuiguan Road and learn the ecology, I realized the importance to respect the ecology and be grateful.

A means AR/VR. By open source software such as Sketchup and Open eBook, I had initial competence to design web page and edit ebook.

Finally, M means Motivation. I have more learning motivation and I intend to become a program designer through self-learning to invent the programs and benefit human beings.

Afterthoughts(Shuiguan Road):

A live historical interest has accompanied us for more than 90 years and we should be grateful to the officials who actively constructed the place during the Japanese colonial period and the maintenance of Taipei Water Department of nowadays. By establishment of Tsaoshan water system, piloting aqueducts are installed on Pu Tao 1st Rd. and they benefit the residents of Taipei City. Besides drinking the source of Yangmingshan, we can approach mountain and water freely and experience primitive forest and diversity of plants. We have visited the place by climbing up the stairs.

The first challenge of steep slope was more scaring. On the second plain stone road, with green shades and breeze, it was delightful. Sometimes we saw the monkeys jumping and passing through the forest. However, we should not touch, feed or disturb them. We should hike respectfully and do not leave the garbage. It is the concrete protection we can do and we expect that the trail can accompany us for generations with our cautiousness.

Afterthoughts(Cyberfair):

This is my first time to participate in Cyberfair project and I was not familiar with this competition before. I participate it this time and the teacher who guided us have instructed two teams of winner.

The topic of our team is be grateful, Tian Mu water road. Since our school is at the bottom of Yangmingshan and we are near Shuiguan Road, we participate in the project for the following reasons:

1. The entrance is not conspicuous and thus we design the entrance by Augmented Reality(AR).

2. We intend to learn the history of Shuiguan Road and thus we will interview the people on Shuiguan Road on February 6.

3. We intend to learn the animals and plants and it is the main reason that we made this web page.

Afterthoughts(Cyberfair):

In this team of Cyberfair project, I learned to use computer flexibly. It was impressive that by computer, I could draw 3D images. The name of the program is called SketchUp. We designed the entrance of Shuiguan Road by the program.

We did not visit here often. The time was only 12: 30~1: 20 on Mondays and 7: 50~8: 30.

It was my first time to participate in Cyberfair project and the instructors were Teacher Li-wei Sung and Teacher Chih-chieh Chan. Teacher Li-wei Sung is an experienced expert and he had guided three Cyberfair projects with two Platinum awards. Thus, I am glad to be guided by the experienced teacher.

Afterthoughts(Shuiguan Road):

This was my first time to interview others and hike up Tianmu trail who a guide who explained the buildings or plants while walking. For instance, myron of Macaranga tanarius is originally transparent; however, because of oxidation in the air, myron becomes red as blood and it is thus named. We stuck our ears on ears on large aqueducts and we found that the sound was as loud as flushing water. I have learned considerably in this visit.

Afterthoughts(Cyberfair):

This is my first time to participate in Cyberfair project and the last time. Before the participation, I have heard of this activity. However, I was not familiar with the content. I had the opportunity to join in this activity and I was looking forward. The guides were Teacher Chih-chieh Chan and Teacher Li-wei Sung and they were the experienced teachers who have participated in the competition for several times. What impressed me was that we draw 3D entrance design by the program. We could produce various entrances by simple forms. After the activity, I expected to not only obtain knowledge but also expand the vision. Besides, I looked forward to obtaining good grades.

Afterthoughts(Shuiguan Road):

It was my sixth time to hike up Shuiguan Road. I did not reach the height since my mother did not have sufficient physical strength and she was tired at the beginning. Thus, every time, we took a small walk and went home with the family. I am glad that I can climb up Shuiguan Road with the group since I finally reach the higher level. The guides were friendly and they introduced the ecological knowledge of animals and plants around Shuiguan Road and the history and use of the buildings in the neighborhood. I have learned considerably in this trip of Shuiguan Road and it was worth it. I look forward to revisiting Shuiguan Road to acquire more related knowledge.

Afterthoughts(Shuiguan Road):

I was woke up in early morning since I would visit Teacher He on Shuiguan Road with classmates. When I arrived at the school, I was surprised that there was no one. I wondered if I made a mistake with the time and date? Fortunately, the teacher came down to find me; otherwise, I would have gone home. When I entered the computer classroom, several classmates were waiting and looking at me. It was so embarrassing. However, when we arrived on Shuiguan Road , Teacher He waited us at the intersection and guided us to walk through Shuiguan Road. The teacher introduced the ecology of plants and asked me to take the pictures. I wondered why I had to take two cameras? Did I have to take more pictures? After walking for a period of time, everyone started panting since it was extremely tired. However, when we realized that there were still the roads on top, we all decided to give up. However, Teacher He told us a story and afterwards we continued walking with energy. When we reached the top, we originally intended to enter Shuiguan Road. Due to the lack of time, we returned to school. It was extremely interesting to visit Shuiguan Road!

Afterthoughts(Cyberfair):

It was my first time to join in Cyberfair project and I was exicited and nervous since it was the first time to represent the school in the competition. In the several months, everyone had made the efforts and we expected the positive result since we have worked hard! In the hard work, I have thought of giving up. However, I did not do it and I hoped that our efforts were not in vain! The competition was extremely interesting and I looked forward to rejoining in the game when I became Grade 6.

Afterthoughts(Cyberfair):

This was my first time to participate in Cyberfair project and my last time in the six years of elementary school. Before joining in the competition, I have heard of it; however, I had no ideas about the content. I only knew that we made the web page for the game and I did not know we should write the afterthoughts. This time I had the chance to join in this Cyberfair project and I started recognizing the project. Since the first course, the teacher has told us to work more efficiently by team work. We began from analyzing the game, selecting the topic, searching for and reorganizing data to interviewing people, making web page and finishing the game. We intend to obtain good grades; nevertheless, it was not easy and it requires efforts and time. We should carefully accomplish everything without neglecting the details which can be the keys of success.
