Assisting Patients in Hospital Rehabilitation by Interacting with Therapy Dogs

A therapy dog's job is to assist the patient in hospital rehabilitation by interacting with the therapy dog and allowing the patient to perform different rehabilitation actions. This adds fun to the boring and uncomfortable rehabilitation process and increases the patient's motivation. Therapy dogs can also perform different talents in senior care facilities and interact with elders to provide more fun for the elderly. Therapy dogs can be used to interact with children of special needs to increase socialization, influence emotional management, or even improve concentration. Three Qualities of a Therapy dogs are often exposed to a variety of subjects and must not be explosive or aggressive, so being stable and friendly to people is a must. Illness can affect a dog's mood and behavior, so a healthy dog with less illness will be more stable and more suitable as a therapy dog. In addition to the above, owners and dogs both need to receive formal training before dogs can become real therapy dogs. Continuous daily training is also required to maintain the dog's good performance and stability.
